Reminder: Death Cab For Cutie’s concert (next Tuesday night!) at Millennium Park is 100% sold out. Please note that no tickets will be made available at the event and we ask that if you do not have a ticket please do not come to the park looking for one. If you’re one of the fortunate fans who were able to purchase tickets, please note the following:

* The concert will start promptly at 7:00pm…
* …So early arrival to the concert is strongly encouraged
* Bags and coolers will be checked at entry.  Prohibited items will be confiscated (see list below)
* The concert will take place rain or shine
* Make your plans in advance for transportation to the concert.  Full details are listed below regarding parking and public transportation

Again, please note that no tickets for this event will be available for purchase at the venue night of show. Tickets are required for entrance to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion for this concert.  If you do not already have a purchased ticket please do not come down to the event expecting to buy one.

Admission Policies:

Doors open approximately one hour prior to showtime We strongly urge all guests to enter the venue as early as possible to avoid delays. All guests entering the venue are subject to a search.. Exit/Re-entry into Jay Pritzker Pavilion is not permitted.  Everyone needs a ticket to this event. However, children ages 2 and under will be permitted entry into the great lawn without a ticket when in the company of an adult holding a lawn ticket.  No strollers will be allowed.

GETTING THERE : DIRECTIONS AND TRANSPORT

From The North:

If traveling from the North on the Kennedy Expressway or Edens Expressway (Interstate 90/94), exit at Monroe Street and drive east to Michigan Avenue.

If driving on the Outer Drive (North Lake Shore Drive/Highway 41), exit at Randolph Street or Monroe Street and drive west to Michigan Avenue.

From The South:

If traveling from the South on the Dan Ryan Expressway (Interstates 90/94), exit at Congress Parkway and drive east to Michigan Avenue and then north to Monroe Street. If driving on Lake Shore Drive (Highway 41), exit at Randolph Street and drive west to Michigan Avenue.

From The East:

If traveling from the East on the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 90), take the Chicago Skyway to the Stony Island exit, follow Highway 41 (Lake Shore Drive) to downtown Chicago, exit at Monroe Street and drive west to Michigan Avenue.

If coming in from the East on Interstate 90/94, continue on the Dan Ryan Expressway, exit at Congress Parkway, drive east to Michigan Avenue and then north to Monroe Street.

From The West:

If traveling from the West on the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290), which becomes Congress Parkway, drive east to Michigan Avenue, and then turn north (left) to Monroe Street.

PUBLIC TRANSPORATION

Public transportation is one of the easiest and most economical ways to get around in Chicago. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) operates a network of buses and elevated/subway trains throughout Chicago. For directions to Millennium Park, call the Travel Information Center at 836.7000 (from any local area code) or visit www.rtchicago.com and complete a trip planner to find the quickest or most direct transit route to Millennium Park using CTA buses and trains. CTA train stations close to Millennium Park include the Red Line Washington Street exit and the Brown/Green/Orange and Purple Line Madison/Wabash Street exit.

When traveling from the suburbs, Metra, the premier commuter rail system, makes traveling to and from downtown Chicago and its surrounding areas easy and convenient with four downtown stations.

If arriving downtown via Union Station (Canal Street, between Adams and Jackson Boulevard), take CTA's #151 bus directly to Millennium Park. The Randolph Street Station exits directly on Michigan Avenue across from the park, the Ogilvie Transportation Center (Madison and Canal Streets) is quickly accessible to the park by CTA's #20 or #56 bus and the LaSalle Street Station (Congress and LaSalle Streets) is accessible to the park by CTA's #147 and #151 bus.

Motor coaches can unload passengers at 205 East Randolph Street and may not park or station vehicles on upper Randolph Street for the duration of the event.

BICYCLE PARKING

Located at Randolph Street and Columbus Drive, the McDonald's Cycle Center is a 300-space, heated indoor bicycle parking facility provides lockers, showers, a snack bar with outdoor summer seating, bike repair, bike rental and other amenities. Bicycle parking spaces are available free of charge. Locker room and showers are available with bike parking for $1 per day (single day passes must be purchased in groups of ten). Monthly and annual memberships are also available. This facility is ideal for use by both daily commuters and long distance bike travelers. BEING THERE : SAFETY AND SECURITY
The following items are permitted into Jay Pritzker Pavilion: 

•  Food in small soft-sided coolers, small picnic baskets, or zip lock bags for (Great Lawn only).
•  Low lawn chairs and blankets (Great Lawn only)
•  Non-professional and disposable cameras
•  One (1) factory sealed plastic bottled non-alcoholic beverage up to a liter in size. (NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED)
•  Small Backpacks, small purses and fanny packs.
 

The following items are NOT permitted into Jay Pritzker Pavilion:
Bags and coolers will be checked at entry.  Prohibited items will be confiscated, including but not limited to:

•  Alcoholic Beverages
•  ANY ITEM DEEMED BY MANAGEMENT OR SECURITY TO BE DANGEROUS OR INAPPROPRIATE
•  Balloons, Flag poles, Tables, items to stake into the lawn.
•  Coolers (except as permitted above)
•  Glass Bottles, Cans
•  Large Bags, Backpacks, Briefcases
•  Pets (only service animals are permitted)
•  Professional cameras and tripods
•  Thermoses
•  Umbrellas
•  Video Cameras, Recording Devices
 
Bags are subject to inspection. Prohibited items that are discovered during inspections at venue entrances must either be returned to the owner's vehicle or will be discarded. The venue will not provide a storage area for these items. Guests arriving by mass transit must take particular caution not to bring any prohibited items.
