Since the initial tour announcement, fan response has been overwhelming to the point where a second show has been added to fill the demand for tickets. Now, Death Cab For Cutie will perform on April 16 & 17 at The Chicago Theatre. Death Cab for Cutie will be accompanied on stage by members of San Francisco’s celebrated Magik*Magik Orchestra. Known for their innovative collaborations, the orchestral group previously teamed with Death Cab for Cutie for their recent installment of VH1 Storytellers as well as doing all of the string arrangements on the band’s most current release Codes And Keys. Opening the Chicago shows will be special guests Low.

Death Cab for Cutie featuring the Magik*Magik Orchestra with Special Guest Low Death Cab for Cutie has announced a special spring tour of intimate venues and historic theaters and will be accompanied on stage by members of San Francisco’s celebrated Magik*Magik Orchestra. Known for their innovative collaborations, the orchestral group previously teamed with Death Cab for Cutie for their recent installment of VH1 Storytellers as well as doing all of the string arrangements on the band’s most current release Codes And Keys. A new single, “Underneath the Sycamore,” will herald the upcoming tour, with an amazing companion video directed by Walter Robot, who did the band’s famed “Grapevine Fires” video. The track is among the many highlights of DCFC’s critically acclaimed album, “CODES AND KEYS” which has been nominated in the “Best Alternative Music Album” category at this year’s Grammy Awards.
