Philip DeFranco is an American media personality, news commentator, and entrepreneur widely regarded as one of YouTube's earliest and most enduring creators. Armed with little more than a camera and a point of view, he launched his YouTube channel in 2006 and quickly built a loyal audience around his candid, fast-paced commentary style. Today he hosts three shows: The Philip DeFranco Show, his flagship daily news program that has accumulated billions of views over nearly two decades; In Good Faith, a long-form interview and conversation series; and Crashing Out, a news-comedy podcast co-hosted with comedian Alex Pearlman that launched in late 2025 and has seen rapid growth across YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. He won the Streamy Award for Show of the Year in 2016 and most recently took home Best Independent News & Politics at the inaugural Indie PaC Awards at SXSW 2026. His main YouTube channel boasts over 6.5 million subscribers and nearly 2 billion views, and he operates entirely independently through his production company, Rogue Rocket.
